Don't believe the startup dream
Pros
- It's a nice place / environment to start or advance in your career - You'll have the opportunity to work with lots of different people from different states of Brazil - They had a dream team of recently graduated engineers from ITA, many with experience of internship in big companies like Google, Facebook and Microsoft - We had some talks from experienced professionals (employees from Microsoft, Google etc)
Cons
- Blurred lines between work, ideology and politics. They keep pushing the employees to work harder in behalf of a utopian dream. Young and idealistic people usually fall on this. - They're full of "we're gonna change the world" culture. In practice this means that you have to kill yourself working for an ideal with a false premise - They sell a discourse that they'll change the education in Brazil; that won't happen and you'll not work for this. The ENEM exam has nothing to do with education. If you're interested and actually studied something about education you know that the actual system of education in the world is broken (the situation in Brazil is, of course, much worse than in the rest of the world). ENEM exam is part of the problem and it has nothing to do with education at all.
