Cons
I’m sad to say that Genesis used to have real values and ethics for clinicians but has been turned into a high-profit-for-upper-management-motivated business. The face of Genesis, the God-loving and compassionate Dr. Trina Young, seems to be overshadowed amidst prospects of expansion, new programs, and new buildings. Instead of putting that money into caring for/retaining therapists it goes into expansion/corporate aspirations. The new exec force appears more concerned with securing their net profit than with making sure their Clinicians are valued and compensated reasonably for their hard work (not just with clients but with all the work outside of that- collaborating with client’s networks, paperwork, trainings, meetings, etc). Compensation is very low and inconsistent. If you are an unlicensed resident, make sure you talk to your supervisors/clinician friends about the compensation they receive before making plans and “dreams come true” to someday work here as a licensed clinician. You’re salary may not actually increase by much.
