Doing Great Work in A Contentious Time of Transition
Pros
People, even management, are truly committed to the clients Glide serves, and sees people as people, not projects People actually try to be nice to each other (rare!) You see the results of your work every day, not like coding away in a cubicle or remote/home office for a project that may never launch anyway A+ for true diversity, in every aspect of the organization. E.g. you can be out gay here and nobody even blinks an eye Very good benefits
Cons
A high-profile, historic institution undergoing structural and organizational changes Overpaid, top heavy C-Level Glib, compromised, paranoid middle management Way too many high-paid consultants High turnover in staff, middle, and top management Low morale among staffers & no confidence in management The classic siloing and gatekeeping that comes from the conditions above Good benefits will never make up for underscale pay
