Great coworkers. Great parties. Good location.

Cons

Micromanagement. Favoritism. Drama (both coworkers and management). Management acts like babysitters. Worst decision I ever made working here.

We're very proud and protective of our people and our environment, and it resembles very little of which you write about in your review. While we’re not perfect, we care deeply for our employees and work hard at providing an incredible work experience for them and highly support them in being successful in their positions. We have a very extensive and selective hiring process and, consequently, enjoy working with some outstanding people. We have 3 company values by which we hire and hold GoMedigappers accountable. 1) Commitment to Excellence – We don't expect people to be great at what they do right off the bat; however, we expect them to continue to work to be better in their positions and we provide extensive training and 1on1s to help them in doing so. 2) Enduringly Positive – This is the one value that can be difficult for some to adhere to. It can also be the most damaging when individual employees don’t adhere to it. We love what we do and negative and disruptive influences bring down the mood and the enjoyment of our daily activities. We have very low tolerance for negativity and people that promote it. At the same time, we regularly invite feedback from our employees on how we can be better and we have a very strong track record of improving based on the feedback. Most of our employees comment on how much they enjoy working at GoMedigap compared to other places they have worked. 3) Heart of a Teacher – This one is self-explanatory. We take great pride in teaching and developing our employees and, in turn, they work hard to learn and, in turn, educate our clients. Strong and positive performers rarely leave GoMedigap. Negative and/or consistent underperformers are provided more support and guidance and offered more patience than they would likely get from most other companies. If they don’t show the commitment to excellence or the enduringly positive attitude we value so deeply, they are eventually let go. Even then, we treat them with a high level of respect and they typically show respect and appreciation towards the company and management when they leave. Occasionally, one who has recently been let go will choose to write a post such as this – which is unfortunate.

Good culture

Pros

This company has a good culture and they give you a lot of time to learn a very technical insurance product to sell. People in the service industry who love to take care of others will do well in this job--(if you have sales skills.) One of the few jobs where you are able to show genuine care for the client (who is a senior citizen).

Cons

There are some very loyal employees that are underpaid in operations. For the sales positions, if you are not a "driver" personality, you won't succeed & you will most likely dip into your own savings to stay afloat for the first year.

Thank you for your feedback and sorry for the late response. As a small and privately owned company we have been working towards profitability for years as we reinvest in growth. We paid fair compensation according to 3rd party compensation comparison sites but our people are exceptional and deserve to be paid among the best out there. If you still stay in contact with our operations staff you'll know that we made adjustments this year (after your post) in their compensation to move them closer to the top quartile of compensation for each position based on data from 3rd party sites. We also included a variable bonus component that rewards them based on company sales performance and client satisfaction. We also invest more each year in more and better benefits and feel confident our current total compensation and benefits package is now among the best out there and getting better each year. We realize the awesome people who work at GoMedigap are THE reason our clients rate us as the top company in customer satisfaction in our space. As the company continues to grow we will continue to improve the total compensation package for our employees.

Pros

Benefits, managers and supervisors who really care, welcoming and understanding culture, amazing mission statement. I feel like what I do is actually valued and I feel supported in my role

Cons

Some communication issues within the company, but that’s to be expected as it’s growing so fast. If that’s addressed I feel like this company could be amazing. On the other hand, if it’s not addressed, it could call for high turnover. It’s looking good so far, though.
