Pros
The best support for transcribers to ensure the highest quality job. Editors are friendly and helpful.
Cons
The pay could improve for transcribers
Pros
If you can type fast, you can get paid a little bit of money for your time.
Cons
The pay is low. Their policies make no sense. The editors like to protect their ranks and are afraid of competition. I've had an editor make more mistakes on my work than I made. When I complained about it, I never heard back from anyone.
Pros
Able to work from home. Work any time that is convenient to you.
Cons
Many rude and disrespectful editors and also customer support staff members. Poor quality audio.
Pros
Pays weekly and on time.
Cons
Poor audio quality, low pay, difficult editor test.
Pros
stay away from this company
Cons
they don't pay, their editor do somthing wrong will say transcriptionist is wrong and they give you a low rating, also the editor will show you a different audio file with what you transcribed and give you a low rating, thus you don't get any money
Pros
The staff is professional and easy to work with. The format for working is efficient and the transcription tool makes transcribing easy. The editors are helpful and the final product is high quality.
Cons
I have not had any negative experiences with GoTranscript.
Pros
You can work from home
Cons
- None of the editimg tools work for me, this is probably also because of their poor instructions on how to use or access - the editors and support team are EXTREMELY RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL. I had an editor curse and try to sarcastically belittle me with his comments on my work. I contacted support about this person's unprofessional behavior and humiliating people skills and the customer support agreed with the editor and told me not to respond back on the complaint. So this shows me that the ethics and moral of this company are poor all the way around. I am truly disgusted by their performance as a business - little pay for a lot of work. You get on average $2 for 10 minutes that have to be transcribed. Since they lack the clarity in the tools, it sooooo time consuming to actually make a good transcript. The transcripts are of poor quality and take multiple times to listen. You could spend over a hour transcribing for $2. NOT WORTH IT, unless you are able to unscrambke their directions on how to easily transcribe. I am utterly disappointed in this company, and their treatment of the people that do so much work for them, for so little pay.
Pros
Work from home around your own schedule, you get to choose what files you work on, you can preview file before claiming the job, paid every week via Paypal - they don't take out fees though so I'm not sure why people are saying this. Maybe that's how it used to be and they changed it. All I know is what gets paid to my Paypal is exactly what was earned. It's not everyday you can apply for work online, do a simple test and start working and get paid so easily. It takes a few under your belt to get the hang of it but once you do, you'll be faster and better and can move up to editor for higher pay which is my goal.
Cons
The only thing I can think of is sometimes it's difficult to find good audio files. Sometimes people are on there snatching up those jobs left and right and once in a while there will be times where you feel like there's not one file available that you can do (without getting a poor rating so why risk). This isn't the norm, however. Usually there are pretty good files on there. Once you do some and get good ratings it seems more become available or you have access to files that weren't visible to you before. Like what happens when you do a red or blue file (difficult audios usually).
Pros
they have fair pay, always on time and gives a chance for advancing to editor level quicker
Cons
editor tests are strictly examined
