Great People and Strong Team Spirit Held Back by Directionless Leadership
Pros
The enthusiasm and dedication of the people working here - both locally and across the international teams - are genuinely inspiring. Being part of the Eurofins network provides exposure to a dynamic international environment with broad opportunities for collaboration and growth. The Budapest community is especially supportive and close-knit. People truly look out for one another, motivate each other through challenges, and work together with a strong sense of team spirit.
Cons
Frequent management changes have created a strong sense of instability in Budapest - we have had four different management teams within four years, each bringing new priorities but little long-term direction. While one of the previous managers at least had a reasonable understanding of the GSD business, products, market position, and customer expectations, the current leadership appears disconnected from the actual realities of the business. For the past two years, the organization has been struggling, yet important decisions continue to be delayed, seemingly in the hope that either the wider group or simply time itself will solve the problems. There is very little visible vision or strategy beyond constant KPI tracking, dashboard reporting, and cost-cutting initiatives. Unfortunately, this focus on austerity does not always seem consistent - especially when it comes to management perks, where expensive new company SUVs somehow remain a priority.
