Pros

None to little. Golder was the worst experience of my professional career. They seem to be full of themselves and their Principle and Associate system; where you buy in at some huge amount and then become a member of some sort of private club is ridiculous. There was little talent and I have never encountered people that would not help or review something because they were technically not confident enough until I landed in this hell hole of an office.

Cons

They moved me and my family to Australia which was great. Then they didn't listen to my ideas, marginalized me and other non Australian or non P&As and continued to drive their office and region into the ground. They have no concept of how to win work and deliver on time. They are cliquish and seemed to live to drink and frolic rather than build a good working environment. They seemed lazy and mean spirited and seemed to think a client is just someone who pays them to come to work, visit and chat and have snacks all day.

Pros

As a group of individuals, talented and very pleasant. Lovely. Which is why the Cons section is hard to write. New CEO is a thoroughbred, and external and may just sort the company out. Restructuring and a trimming of the fat is underway. The company still has a lot of potential for excellence and great people, albeit very stressed.

Cons

As an organisation - poor. Worst career move of my life. In truth. I am now much more critical and cynical as a result. Did not do what it said on the tin. At all. If I had more sense I might have left, or called a lawyer in to aid my cause. But you want to keep the faith with these guys... til the bitter end. Inward facing, run on egos and poor ethos. Reluctance to diversify, delegate or promote talent. Unconscious (and conscious bias) everywhere... and I mean throughout the international system and seemingly swept under the carpet. It seems to me the positive reviews are from those still in the company that want to encourage new people to join which is fair enough, because there is some good talent in there.. but be mindful the company has not yet found a happy place. There has been a period of blatant denial by senior staff of changing markets, clear issues with pay inequality between individuals and work imbalance between departments. Poor leadership. I mean its not unique in its problems, but its just do far removed from what this company thinks it is... or maybe was ten years ago.

Pros

You will meet technically gifted people and learn a lot in a short space of time about a variety of industries. You will do well if you fit in and are male with a big ego and are prepared to sacrifice your work/life balance and morality to succeed. Otherwise prepare to work hard for little reward and empty promises and make sure you can tolerate a bit of colonialist or sexist 'banter' now and again.

Cons

Don't expect a supportive environment. Management style is poor. Managers are often in positions due to length of service and are incompetent at managing people. 'Breadcrumbing' to junior staff is common place.
