Unless you’re REALLY desperate... highly not recommended.
Pros
Occasionally able to leave work early.
Cons
Where do I start. Not really the type to leave negativity but thought it was necessary after my experience. When I first got hired on, I was debating between Gorilla and another company and made the unfortunate decision to come to Gorilla due to the positive reviews left on Glassdoor. I didn’t want anyone to make the same mistake as myself due to the fake reviews most likely written by family members or employees that are also friends of the family so thought it would only be fair to leave an honest review. If you still choose to join the team, considered yourself warned. For starters, the other negative review left here cannot be more spot on. The owner has absolutely NO IDEA what he is doing nor has any experience in the industry. He hires experienced individuals yet refuses to take any advice. This can be quite frustrating as it just seems like a failing business and you’re just waiting for the day he decides to move on to something else. Someone mentioned that upper management checks the work once a week— NO! They check three times a day. Owner will walk around, hovers behind your desk and checks to see what you’re doing. Micro-management at its finest. From a designers point of view, there is no room for creativity and no support to complete the project well. There is now work flow or project management organization. You can be in the middle of something and he’ll tell you to start doing something else randomly. This place really is a joke. I understand if you are very desperate for a job and this place is your only option bc I get it, a crappy job is better than no job. But if you have a choice like I did, choose the latter and thank me later. Anyway, I eventually left— along with dozens of people who either got fired or quit. It was a experience working with such a toxic boss bc it taught me to appreciate the others.
