Pros
The staff was very easy to work with and you are guaranteed that you work with someone who shares your same interests. The community is very receptive to the library and likes to protect it, I never had a bad experience that I couldn’t turn around for the better. Unlimited resources for entertainment, you always get first dibs on new material and you will never be bored with all the choices of books, movies, music and games. Great staff events and inter library events, if you enjoy assisting the community and giving back this really is the best place to do it!
Cons
Because it is a small library, sometimes funding can be low which can lead to cut hours and not a lot of pay without the proper degrees and certifications. Like any place, sometimes you don’t always get along with those you work with but if smart you just learn when to engage them and when to leave them alone. There was a bit of jealousy and miscommunication within the department I was working in just due to the normal creative politics that go on. I was able to over look that though as I did have good communication with the director and I believe they were able to correct those issues.
