Pros
Working at Hope Academy was a rewarding experience with being able to interact with diverse unique young men and women. Many at the school were also dedicated individuals seeking to provide unique solutions to unique learners.
Cons
It was an extremely political environment characterized by very weak administrative leadership. Oftentimes the administration took credit for good things happening but easily scapegoated others when negative things occurred. While there were many teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff who were dedicated and exceptional professionals, there were a handful of teachers, paras, and staff who lacked professionalism and were able to get away with doing some inappropriate items. Communication was extremely weak from the administration, and the administration often was "too busy" to meet with concerned parents or teachers regarding trying situations at the school. No benefits.
