Pros

Certain departments seem to be better managed than others. The junior staff is wonderful. I couldn't have asked for a better team. There are weekly happy hours and a strong office culture.

Cons

For starters, the staff (especially junior staff) are grossly underpaid. They hire you with a minimal salary and offer over time. But they don't tell you that you're EXPECTED to work over time. That you'll no longer have a life outside work. That no amount of over time could possible justify the advantage they've taken of their employees. Senior management pretends that things are always peachy, but in reality, they're not. They claim to be transparent, but in reality, they are far from it. Their client relations are terrible, hence why they've lost one of the largest pharma companies in the world as a client.

Pros

- People. I met some of my best friends at Greater Than One. - Free food. Fully stocked kitchen made getting lunch everyday really easy. - A few senior leaders act as champions for the junior staff who do not feel comfortable sticking up for themselves when bullied by other management. - Wine and Beer Fridays (happy hours). Friday afternoons were pretty relaxing and fun.

Cons

- Executive management doesn't manage well. Employees are promoted into positions with no proper training and don't know how to manage their people (or projects). - Work/life balance is laughable at best. The expectation is presented to employees, mainly junior staff, that you must work until the wee hours of the morning to be considered a "good employee". People use "I was here late last night" or "I worked over the weekend" as some weird badge of honor. Stop it. It's not about working longer or harder, it's about working smarter. - Completely unorganized. There is no process for the completion of tasks across teams which makes it impossible to complete work in an organized, efficient, and correct manner.

A company with no future

Pros

A small privately own agency without the big agency structure, and policy burden.

Cons

GTO is run by a bunch of third grade, big agency failed mangers who parachuted down to a small agency to extend whatever left in their career lives. Their thinking are out of date and definitely not innovative — not a place for young folks who are looking for a great first place as the first step to a bright career future.
