Pros

There is no question that working at Greenwich Library has perks. Excellent salary and benefits. The collection might be the best public library collection on the East Coast for a community this size.

Cons

There is a toxic atmosphere. Worse, the administration facilitates this atmosphere. There are folks in positions in administration that are unqualified and morale is in the toilet.

Pros

-Management changes = big improvement. Feel respected mostly -Proximity to train for commuters -Well funded and supported by community; fulfilling -Safe and well maintained in comparison to other libraries. Mostly beautiful building, pleasure to work there. -plenty of helpful and friendly coworkers. Not something you find often -Convenient cafe in basement -Opportunities to move around department or branches

Cons

-Privileged community = high (sometimes impractical) expectations for service. Will require saying no and redirecting. -lengthly town hiring process out of library control Not many cons that are specific to this organization. Typical library field challenges.
