Pros

- Company culture is fantastic. They understand that happy employees produce better results, so GP focuses heavily on work / life balance. - Most agencies will pile as many clients as they can on their account managers; GP won't ever give you more than 3. Most have 2. - Vast majority of clients are modern tech-minded companies; it's easy to speak to them about strategy. - Strong sense of teamwork; you feel like your co-workers have your back - GP uses advanced techniques and proven processes for account management, so even someone who's been doing SEM for years will find plenty of new strategies and skills to learn. This is a great company for building your career up. - Management actually listens and cares about how you're doing, and welcomes feedback on how they can improve. There's an overall sense of, "How can we be the best in everything we're doing?" at this company, which is very refreshing. - HR (AKA People Ops) actually genuinely cares for you and your needs. - Tons of perks, such as: - Account managers get an analyst to help assist them on accounts - Monday breakfast stipend - Friday lunch stipend - Quarterly team outings - Commuter stipend - Learning stipend - Your own laptop - Work from home Wednesdays - Flexible Time Off! (no traditional vacation or sick leave time) - Competitive salary - Company-covered health benefits - Opportunities for quarterly bonuses - High bonus if you refer a new employee

Cons

- It can sometimes feel like the bar is set very high; all of the above perks must be earned with great time management, deep understanding of your accounts, and constantly pushing the envelope for yourself as well as your clients. Understand, though, that literally everyone at the company has your best interests in mind, including your managers. They are open to feedback and will actually listen to you. - This job is fast-paced, and there's no room to slack. I don't view this as a con, personally, but some might. If you want a job where you can coast, this is not the job for you! - Paychecks come once per month. This isn't that bad, it just requires some getting used to. - Travel costs are typically paid up front by you, and reimbursed later, rather than covered by the company initially. The silver lining of this is you get to accrue frequent flyer miles and points for your credit card! - Reporting is still very manual and time consuming. - This is a Mac-oriented company, so you may need to adjust to this if you're a Windows user like I am.

Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to write such a thoughtful review! First of all, being recognized for caring about employees and their needs might just be the highlight of my week! Through my own experience, I’ve learned employees are the most important aspect of a company. Without them, a company will not succeed. Beyond that, you don’t just need employees… you need HAPPY employees. The policies, benefits and perks we’ve implemented are to ensure employees are able to maintain a healthy work/life balance and be the best version of themselves! Second, feedback is one of the most important things at Growth Pilots. We’re constantly looking for ways to evolve our feedback loop (if you have any improvements, let us know!) and want to ensure we’re as receptive to employee feedback as we hope employees are to ours. Doing so fosters a comfortable work environment where employees feel empowered to speak up. You don’t find this at every company. Third, do we have high standards for our team? Absolutely. Do we set the bar high? 100%. While some may look at these as cons, I actually consider them pros. Personally, it makes me push myself further than I have before. Over the past year, I’ve learned, grown and developed in ways I never knew I could. Take it as a blessing in disguise and you will do wonderful things during your time at Growth Pilots and beyond 🙂 If you have any further feedback to share, please don't hesitate to email me directly at stephanie@growthpilots.com. A Refreshing Company Culture

Pros

-> Professional excellence without micro-management -> Prioritizes actual competence in our marketing initiatives for the sake of serving the interests of our clients over simply maximizing revenue at the expense of our partners (one of the reasons why GP has the great rep it does) -> No BS environment means emotionally healthy feedback loops within a supportive atmosphere -> Always an opportunity to grow and learn -> Work hard, play hard mentality

Cons

-> No 401(k) match -> The typical ups and downs of a start-up feel culture, from managing what it looks like to scale to having a more scrappy mentality. This has both its pros and cons!

Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback! “A refreshing company culture” … music to my ears! Since I joined the team last November, I’ve been doing my best to create a culture that's fun, collaborative and engaging. I’ve always said we spend most of our time at work so we should enjoy coming into the office. Aside from the company being feedback oriented and the management team being transparent, our team lunches, happy hours and quarterly events definitely play a big part in the amazing culture we’ve built at Growth Pilots! In addition, you mentioned there’s always an opportunity to grow and learn and I couldn’t agree more! Through our $300/quarter learning stipend, internal and external happy hour workshops and resources available (LinkedIn Learning is a game changer!), I find there’s never a shortage of learning to be done. Lastly, we absolutely recognize the significant value a matching 401k plan would have on the team. This is something we're hoping to roll out in 2019. Until then, we'll continue to offer a 401k plan for employee contribution so team members can save for their future! Pros

Get lots of experience immediately handling (or helping with) accounts Nice people always willing to help Only have to handle 2-4 clients, so you're not worked to death 40 hour work week for the most part (I've heard horror stories from other agencies) Work atmosphere that encourages testing and experimenting with new features Snacks, drinks, beer and rose on tap

Cons

Need to streamline processes (transitioning accounts especially) Working on streamlining how accounts are managed by Account Managers. It can be very ad hoc. Developing a better training system for new hires, especially analysts

Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback! During my own interview process at Growth Pilots, I was also pleasantly surprised to hear that individual team members only worked on 2-4 accounts and weren’t exceeding bandwidth 🙂 As someone who puts employees first, this was a huge selling point for me! During the past year and a half, our company has transformed itself in regards to People Ops policies and processes. While this has been a main focus for myself since joining the team, I’m thrilled to say the entire Management team came together earlier this month to determine additional processes needed across the company. We’re working to build these out for everything from hiring to on-boarding to client calls to budgeting. We had our initial kick-off with client calls and it’s already had a major impact on the team. When the rest of these processes are finalized and rolled out, I believe we’ll see some major improvements when it comes to training new hires, account management and more. If you have any further feedback to share, please don't hesitate to email me directly at stephanie@growthpilots.com. All the best, Stephanie People Operations Manager
