Pros

Guidewire have an excellent on-boarding program and show a real commitment to ensuring that their people have a good solid understanding of the application before putting them in front of a customer. They really want to give you everything they can to make you successful. There is a great culture within the organisation and everyone I have met really buys into the company culture. You really can feel that culture with all the people you meet from around the world and it helps to make you feel part of a great organisation. Everyone is very friendly, supportive and willing to help. Great products using a lot of the latest technology and lots of opportunities to grow and develop your career.

Cons

Travel is a requirement Mon-Thurs each week if you are on a project outside of your home town. This can be tough but you are made very aware of the requirements when applying for the job. You need to be prepared to do the travel.

Pros

Culture of Feedback and Development: Guidewire emphasizes regular feedback through 1:1s, quarterly check-ins, and annual performance reviews. Employees are encouraged to share and receive feedback openly, fostering personal and professional growth. Multiple channels exist for voicing concerns. Career Growth and Learning: It provides clear paths for advancement, promotes from within, and offers various learning opportunities such as in-house training, online resources, and opportunities for development. Employees are supported in setting and achieving career goals. Hybrid and Flexible Work Model: Guidewire supports a hybrid work model, allowing flexibility based on role requirements. This approach balances operational efficiency with employee needs. Employees have access to global mobility programs and are encouraged to apply for internal job openings, supporting career progression and international experience.

Cons

Operational Complexity: The hybrid work model and global operations can introduce complexity, especially when aligning business needs with individual flexibility. Self-Directed Career Development: While resources and support are available, employees are expected to take initiative in their own development. This may be challenging for those who prefer more structured guidance. Change and Adaptability: The company’s focus on innovation and continuous improvement means employees must be comfortable with change and ambiguity, which may not suit everyone.
