It was a startup company and they had no proper goals and direction.

Nice colleagues and free parking.

They got audited for an 800k grant from SR&ED. The audit was scheduled for May 30. Knowing that, they started creating fake deadlines for some big made-up release in July and also promised pay raises to all of us. As soon as they made sure the audit went well, they laid off everybody. Other problems I noticed: 1- Low pay 2- Working on weekends 3- Overly completed platform/app. They should have started with something simpler. 4- Lacks management transparency.
