Pros
Most employees are diligent and determined with their domain. Some nice team involvements and groups.
Cons
Below average pay scale. Little room for career advancement
Pros
As a manager, left to manage independently
Cons
Privately owned business resulted in poor executive leadership that trickled downhill resulting in poor treatment of employees
Pros
Good pay, often would get prevailing wage on union jobs
Cons
bad company culture, always felt like a battle between management vs employees
Pros
Employees are all great and treat each other like family. Room to move to into better job positions assuming you have the education
Cons
Workload is not evenly distributed, higher paid employees get away with doing way less work than those below them.
Pros
Smart employees. Fun co-workers. Interesting work. Good clients.
Cons
Antiquated internal systems. Change or improvement is a slow moving process. Frustrating workflow. Processes and procedures vary from person-to-person. A disorganized and confusing place to work.
Pros
Flexible work schedule, family-oriented mindset (holidays, short-notice approved PTO, arrive late/leave early flexibility). Managers are fair because they are in the same boat as their employees with feeling many of the policies should be revamped. Location is convenient to Hartford & New Haven counties.
Cons
Hard to advance, almost impossible if female; lateral moves more likely. All females are treated as entry-level employees, even if they are at a higher level. Pay is horribly off scale to performance for many and there are many empty promises from management to increase pay, offer better benefits, boost moral, etc. Good friends and family to Upper Management make more than those who actually work hard. "Stale" work environment with known indoor mold issues. Overall vibe is negative. Upper Management (C-level) turn their heads to employee complaints and then cannot understand why key employees leave.
Pros
Great employees to work with
Cons
Owner not very responsive to changing economy
Pros
-Family run business (not big corporate feel) -Employees are a team and work together. Very close bonds. -Company sponsored events - summer picnics, lunch BBQs at the office, Happy hour gatherings, Christmas parties -Training opportunities available -401k employer contribution -Quarterly meetings to involve employees with important topics, including financials and company direction
Cons
I've been an employee for HB for some time. Like many A/V companies there have been ups and downs with the economy - but with the upturn of the markets and improvements at the company things seem to be heading in a promising direction.
Pros
Flexible schedule depending on your role, growing industry, passionate employees, recent restructuring is creating new opportunities.
Cons
Management over the years has included some people not fit to lead. Recent changes have me more optimistic although filling new leadership roles will be key moving forward. Those avoiding change and focusing on complaining have hindered evolution.
