Doomed from the start in the age of COVID.
Pros
Hana, as a company is backed by CBRE, a real estate company that has billions of dollars in cash. This should allow them to ride out any long term damage that COVID has on there bottomline. When negotiating with vendors it's nice to have a 800 pound gorilla in the room with you.
Cons
Hana as a work place is a den of snakes, a combination of toxic culture, lack of opportunity, combined with constantly threat of being replaced, undermined or having your ideas stole and with no credit given. First hand witnesses to senior managers taking ideas from junior employees and masquerading as theirs. This was all before COVID, so now that has exacerbated the already tense situation. Both the CEO and CTO of the companies come from failed leadership teams, the CEO missed Uber pulling the rug out from their business model at Zipcar, and the CTO was at the center of the toxic culture of Refinery29. This cascades down the entire management team and HR who only server themselves and think about how best to protect themselves from any fallout. The other giant problem is the fundamentals of the company are just bad, at a high level the company is beholden to CBRE vast corporate oversight which adds the bloat and weight of a cruise ship to what is supposed to be a agile startup, so much that all critical decisions are not really left for the Hana team to decide, the whole business could be swallowed up by CBRE or shutdown at any moment which given the future of the workplace seems more and more likely.
