Pros

They make grand promises to attract you, convincing you that you can truly make a difference. They sell a good game.

Cons

This situation feels like a farce. The CEO, who was once a founder of *UnitedHealthcare, has made HH chase non-stop funding to tap into Accountable Care Organization (ACO) money—it's clear now that this has been their true motivation. Unfortunately, Clay Johnson may have been led astray in all of this, and his reputation has taken a significant hit. The dream of connected, whole patient care is now all about metrics and dollars. Recently, they made a few Village Medical acquisitions and immediately closed three established clinics, laying off dedicated employees and patients who needed continuity of care and had been with the company for a long time. It seems like their focus is more on acquisitions and power than on the people who have put in so much hard work. There was so much promise and potential in this venture, but, as is often the case in healthcare (the tell* was there all along), the pursuit of money has overshadowed the primary mission.
