A sinking ship

Pros

The office has a nice view & sometimes they’ll buy lunch for everyone.

Cons

This is your classic toxic work environment. The executive team are living in another decade and are so disorganized that they’ve resorted to a “throw anything at the wall and see what sticks” business strategy. The people at the top don’t know how to achieve the results they want and do not allow the experts they’ve hired to do what they’ve been hired to do. The CRO and his POD leadership team are the most unprofessional individuals I have encountered in my 20+ years of working. They resort to bully tactics, lying and manipulation to cover for them never hitting their numbers. This behavior is almost endorsed by the CEO and COO when they respond to anyone addressing it as “hearsay” or “gossip” because they don’t want to deal with it. They are sticking their heads in the sand at their own peril. Beyond the clear, systemic issues in leadership, the CEO’s attitude that “we’re a family here” really just means that they will pay well under market rates as they ask employees to do the job of 5+ people. They only seem to respect fair wages when they counteroffer after important employees give their two week notice. The unfair adage that “young people don’t want to work” will be used as a weapon by executives when needed. In the past 3 months, Healthcare2U has lost 6 employees. Turnover is increasing as long-time employees see the writing on the wall: this company is a sinking ship and the desperation at the top to generate leads and lives is ruining whatever culture they’ve tried to implement. An RTO policy has come about in the last few months that seems entirely tied to the CEO’s whims and political affiliation, rather than common sense. Anyone who questions these or any other of the recent number of policy changes is viewed as an unnecessary disruption and hung out to dry. If you are looking to take on a role in Sales or Marketing, this is not a company where you will thrive. You will be disrespected, gaslighted and talked about behind your back. My suggestion to anyone who needs a job in these departments bad enough to accept a position at Healthcare2U is this: make a plan to leave as soon as you get what you need to move on to your next opportunity. For as many stories as the executive team like to tell about supporting everyone’s career goals and growth, they actually do nothing to help. If you don’t happen to be a man over the age of 45, you will not be listened to or respected. The CEO frequently likes to mention that there is an “open-door policy” at Healthcare2U, but that door does not swing the other way. Employees are left in the dark about strategy, earnings, goals and even their own pay. As an example, employees now take home hundreds of dollars less per month due to an HR mistake with insurance that was addressed once and then never spoken of again. Healthcare2U has become a place that values obedience and compliance over anything else. It is clear that this business is not sustainable in its current form.

Pros

The only pro is the bonus incentive.

Cons

The Account Executives need leadership training. They are toxic and have no sense of organizational skills. They do not know how to communicate with their team or other departments. If you enjoy micromanagement this environment is for you.

Pros

The idea & story behind the product is great. The execution is what makes the product terrible.

Cons

Healthcare2U’s executive team is disorganized and the majority of them lack communication skills, which trickles down and is at the core of many other problems that persist here. There are no processes, no knowledge center, or even reliable people to give information when needed. You’ll hear several different answers for one single question. The teams are very siloed, which is strange given that the company has less than 50 employees. We’re unaware of major projects or partnerships that other teams have in the works. We also rarely receive updates on the company’s financial health, short & long term goals, or plans for the future. There is very little planning or intention from the executive team, forcing the employees to be very reactive to last minute changes on a consistent basis. Pivoting is natural but when it’s due to a lack of intention & planning, then it’s chaos. The culture is nonexistent, not for lack of trying though. There is a culture team but much of what they do doesn’t really seem valued or have the buy-in from the leadership teams. All of these issues tied in with the lack of culture have given way to toxic behaviors, most of which come from the sales team. They’re difficult to work with, do not take feedback, look to deflect instead of work together, and have horrible attitudes. The CRO has thrown tantrums, cursed and yelled in meetings, and it’s treated like a normal occurrence. These behaviors are enabled simply because of the idea that they’re responsible for the revenue. It’s clear to everyone that nothing is being done to address these behaviors. If pay and benefits were great, then some of these issues may be a bit more tolerable. But the pay and benefits are below average. There are better run companies offering way more. A testament to all of these issues is that the company lost 6 great employees in less than 2 months. They have yet to address these losses or the concerns those people brought up in their exit interviews.
