Pros

-Some of my colleagues are fantastic people, and I do have a good relationship with my line manager who is also great -Some of the Directors are good people and have done some genuinely good things for the company -Some very knowledgeable people to work around and learn from -Sometimes, we get to add benefit to the lives of people we speak to. This is nowhere near as common as I'd hoped it would be in this job.

Cons

-I'm writing this review because I'm seeing so many people either leaving the company or wanting to leave, and these things need to be said. You cannot par me off as being a "disgruntled ex-employee" either, as I am a current employee who works incredibly hard for you and is good at their job. -Workload is completely unsustainable, because senior management put too much emphasis on offering new things to their clients (which then increases workload), and not enough on actually recruiting a solid workforce that's big enough to sweep up the mess they make as a result of this. I have some very talented colleagues who work so hard to get things done, but we are hopelessly understaffed for the job we are expected to do. Increased workload cannot be blamed on the COVID situation, as I've heard management try to do this before. This mess was completely avoidable, but senior management have become blinded by greed and ambition. -Any sort of constructive criticism is usually met with fire and brimstone. Don’t believe me? Just look at some of the responses from one of our Directors to the reviews on here... completely unprofessional, demonstrates a complete lack of self-awareness, and yet hardly surprising to me as I know the Director who wrote them. -Most days, a high percentage of my colleagues are stressed beyond belief because of the workload and how unsupported we feel. -Favouritism is a MASSIVE problem in the office, and I'm glad that other reviews have highlighted this. If you're one of senior management's "favourites", you're practically invincible to any repercussions for incompetence/laziness/general poor attitude. The rest of us are given little-to-no leeway for the same things these people are allowed to get away with. -Very cliquey office environment that results in a lot of social exclusion. This is from people at all levels in the business, not just management. -A lot of the calls we do are futile and pointless, which provides very little job satisfaction. This is not a reflection of my ability to do my job, as I get plenty of brilliant feedback from clients and colleagues alike; I'm sure any response to this will try and claim that the reason I feel this way is due to incompetence or something equally ridiculous, so I feel that it’s worth mentioning this. -The only reason I haven't left this company? There are little-to-no jobs around at the moment (what with the COVID-19 situation), so I have no alternative but to stay here for now and support my family. It will probably be a while before I find something else but people should know that this is how a current employee has been made to feel. -Silly tribalism between teams and managers, that results in a lot of passive-aggressive actions and backstabbing. This usually stems from the fact that most of the teams are so busy that they have to try and offset their workload by creating more for other teams. It’s a very “dog-eat-dog” environment. -General incompetence and lack of communication across all levels in the business. Advice changes all the time and varies from manager to manager. And then you’ll be punished for it when you inevitably make a mistake out of confusion. I saw one of my colleagues get dismissed for something like this and it was awful how they were treated. -I'm fairly convinced that the recent positive reviews are fakes and have been written in an effort to bury the influx of negative press this company has received. They say that you only usually leave a review if it's a negative one, but I believe the majority of the comments I have read on here are justified and are in-fitting with the opinions of many of my existing colleagues too. I think most people are just too scared to speak out about it, particularly those in my situation who are caught between a rock and a hard place.

Thank you for taking the time to detail your frustrations. As CEO I am however saddened that this had to be posted on an external media site and that the issues outlined could not have been resolved in the normal manner and I am extremely interested in why you felt you had to resort to this. Your comments suggest that the feedback the Board review on workload is not representing the true picture. We review the activity across all area of the business daily and review weekly and monthly demands at executive and board meetings and also externally with our clients. The data shows that activity in most areas of our business are down considerably since 2018 and 2019 whilst the FTE remains unchanged. However, we are aware that in one area of case management that this is currently slightly higher. To assist the case managers with this work we have spread these case management activities across a range of other staff, including some of our most senior and experienced people, to both take up a case load and also support others to manage their cases. From a psychological perspective we undertook an independent survey by MIND, who asked our staff to complete a survey on how we managed the various aspects of psychological health. The result was we were awarded the Gold Standard having been ranked 8th in the UK out of around 150 companies that participated. I am also unaware of any new services that have impacted staff, other than that associated with 1000 Covid-19 assessments, which was an extension of our normal services and specific to the exceptional circumstances we all find ourselves in. We continually have to innovate to maintain our clients and attract new clients and most of this work has been undertaken by a small number of senior individuals including myself. I would ask that if you wish to help your colleagues and resolve these issues for yourself that you make contact with me in confidence and I will do my best to address these problems.

Pros

Should be about employee well being, but far from it.

Cons

Toxic management culture. Bullying culture. Total lack of strategic direction.

I guess this is someone who was fired for a disciplinary matter. I guess it is terrible when we have supported new employees who have bee selected to partake in sport and we have given them time and other sponsorship to pursue that.

Pros

Pay is good (presumably as a pay off for extremely poor treatment), if your "face fits" you can experience career growth. Line management and peers are generally excellent people.

Cons

Company owners are extremely aggressive, bully, play favourites, are highly disorganised and are prone not to promote or organise leadership at senior levels based on skills or aptitude creating a thoroughly toxic atmosphere. Through a period of growth the company has experienced an extremely high staff turnover (50%+ of current headcount, 133%+ of historic headcount). In some business functions, an absolute lack of direction, purpose, ownership or budget. Absolutely no consistency of people management against clear job descriptions with suspect practices forcing staff from the business. If I could give 0/5 I would.

Oh this is an interesting one and the position gives the game away. Sales and Marketing you have targets to meet. Guess what if you don’t meet the targets you have to find another job. The churn rate is not accurate and this individual whoever they are would not be party to recruiting and retention. The other asset you require in sales and marketing is a positive outlook. So this was either an individual who brought no sales to the business and hence “left” or another individual who frankly remained in post for too long without delivering positive outcomes.
