Lack of Leadership & Experience

Pros

Commuter benefits. Flexible work from home policy if needed.

Cons

Leadership (CEO & CTO) are very young and don't seem prepared or knowledgable on how to run a company. I was part of the several layoff waves other reviewers have mentioned. They let go of the entire marketing team in one day. All that was left after that was sales and the tech team. I listened to sales people make awkward cold calls all day and goof off the rest of the time - meanwhile the tech team was on a different floor and communication was scarce. After a few weeks I hated coming here to work, didn't feel fulfilled, and wasn't inspired during weekly meetings which were always filled with "F*** the competition we're better than everyone and they all know it, things are looking up!". This isn't true if you're constantly firing people. I wouldn't recommend working here. You can definitely find something better where the environment is better, vision is clear, and leadership is competent.

Dead End

Pros

Some people that work for Healthie are absolutely wonderful- but 90% have been let go. The only benefit they provide is paying for your subway pass, which is taxed. You receive an insurance plan that you have to pay out of pocket to use. Oh, you also get to provide your own laptop and drag it back and forth every day on the subway, since they do not have any for employees!

Cons

Stop reading this and apply somewhere else if you'd like to keep a job or move up in your career in the next year because unfortunately, Healthie will most likely not be around by then. Everyone at Healthie is in their 20's, including management. There is no business wisdom at this company nor does anyone have any knowledge when it comes to managing people. One week, management is nowhere to be seen, and the next they are down your throat micro-managing your every move. There is no consistency here. The lack of experience will ultimately be the downfall of the company. The line most often heard in team meetings from management is: " We don't have all the answers but hopefully we can all figure this out together!" This is not a comforting message to hear day in and day out from management, while everything is falling apart. During my time at Healthie, I witnessed 4 different period's of 'firings'. These would happen every couple of months, without any warning or notice. During the first firing, almost 50 percent of the company was let go, without any explanation, in the middle of the day. The CEO, Erica has no regard for her employees. Everyone is truly just a number to her, no matter how long someone has been at the company or how hard they worked for her. She let everyone go without any severance or any benefits. Erica will sell you on her story, which truly makes you believe in the mission behind Healthie, but do not be fooled. She will do whatever it takes to get someone through the door, even by stretching the truth about what your position will be and opportunities for raises and bonuses. After the interview is complete and you've been hired, she will seem like a completely different person who has forgotten all the things she promised you. Salary is anywhere from 40-60% below market value depending on your position. Raises and bonuses are scarce to non-existent. "Growth" consists of taking on someone else's work who was fired. Both providers and clients are constantly upset about the growing number of issues that people experience on the platform. These problems range from the site crashing to countless bugs, which rarely get solved. This makes it very hard for sales, success or marketing to do their jobs properly since these problems are completely out of their hands. This also makes for a miserable day-to-day for whoever is speaking with clients as they will direct all their frustrations from the platform at you. There is simply not enough manpower or experience to solve the tech issues that occur every day. The tech team works tirelessly and are rarely rewarded. Overall, you should look elsewhere if you'd either like to be respected in your position or if you'd actually have a job in the next year. The truth is - there is no money left in the bank, they are hanging on by a thread.

Pros

Commuter Benefits, insurance and also these 2007 microsoft laptops.

Cons

It is an honor to leave this well deserved review. Are you looking to be confused and also lied to? Then this is the perfect environment for you. Play dirty is just the nature of the company. Overpromise and under-deliver might as well be there mission statement. Everything I say is true, this I promise you. The Ceo Erica Jain is just simply a terrible leader.
