Pros

Lots of company outings. Lots of fun events.

Cons

Rampant sexual advances/sexual harassment. No means no. If you’re a woman watch out. You will repeatedly be made uncomfortable, asked out multiple times. Sexual innuendos are rampant. Lots of leering. They have had to settle multiple sexual harassment complaints to keep from going to court. This environment seemingly condones the behavior of its male co workers, so long as they tow the company line. Hr doesn’t have the backbone to make the call. Also the work environment is a bit high school. Lots of gossip and cattiness. If you go to hr expect that those private conversations seemingly get out, and become the gossip of the office the next dayZ This is not a conducive work environment! Work here if socializing is a top priority rather than fostering and building a career. If you are a woman, strongly consider working elsewhere.

Pros

I received fabulous training and met some great people at the co-worker level. The relaxed atmosphere is fun....until you are no longer in the 'popular crowd'

Cons

When I gave 2 weeks notice I was treated like a second class citizen and basically escorted from the building. The best way to succeed is to be related to someone. There are many people related to the people they directly report to and they definitely recieve special treatment. Certain producers have the 'power' to harass the account management staff, and if you speak up, management retaliates. There is an atmosphere of fear, regardless of work product, so be careful of who you cross. You get paid below average to begin with, so to be abused on top of it, it's a double whammy. They talk a big game about values and culture, but if you aren't in with the right people, none of it applies.

Culture of Functional Alchoholism & Nepotism

Pros

- Opportunities for advancement (if you are in sales) - Lots of recreational/reward events to attend: catered lunches, yearly trips, parties, lunches/dinners out, alcohol stocked and available in-office (not just for parties). - Networking & socializing - Yearly holiday bonuses - Many women in executive & senior positions

Cons

- Culture is STRONGLY extraverted. Unless you are willing to go to all the recreational activities, you won't last long. Introverts are seen as "antisocial" and will find their career suffers as a result. - There is a LOT of drinking. Coworkers will get sloppy-drunk at reward events. Be careful if you are not a solidly moderate drinker. Teetotalers & AA members should avoid at all costs. - Tons of nepotism. If you know someone or are related to someone, you're going to get preference over applicants & general employees regardless of your work. - They will work you TO DEATH. Salaried employees are expected to be on-call for responding to client calls/emails. Sales are a big deal, so if you are not planning to revolve your life around work, you will not survive. - Management is horrible. Again, nepotism influences corrective actions (if any) and work/blame is shifted to those outside of that umbrella heavily. - Cliquey, two-faced office culture. Be careful who you trust. Can be quite cutthroat and passive-aggressive if not outright hostile behind your back. - Old boys club among the older set. Be prepared for old white men bs. - Maintaining office kitchens & set-up/clean up after in-office events is 99% left up to the (non-producer) women in the office. Prepare for dealing with men who are apparently incapable of putting their coffee mugs in the dishwasher. Daily. - All the above leads to high turnover (and burnout)
