Pros

The pay is very good and the expectations are easy to meet. The work is generally interesting and directly impacts the performance of colleges. Most of the coworkers are very skilled.

Cons

Management is very power hungry and out for management's interests, not yours as an employee. They have suggested that they are changing the terms of bonuses already written in contract and have sued or threatened to sue a former employee. They're also generally not interested in your career advancement or professional growth.

The WORST!

Pros

You get a chance to learn new technologies and work with somewhat interesting data. Company paid holidays. Besides main holidays, you get off some Fridays during the summer and the week between Christmas and New Year off.

Cons

Where to start. HIGH turnover rate in one of the smaller teams (UMGC) so you're having to overwork constantly to cover for missing resources. Management is power hungry and it shows during interactions on daily basis. You're often critiqued and barely encouraged. You're picked on for things that have little to no significance at work and upper management is copied on emails. Does not at all create a collaborative work environment, in fact it puts you on survival mode all the time. You're micromanaged. Extremely micromanaged. You're checked on every couple hours with a status update when you're new and multiple times during the day after you've become comfortable. Management puts employees against each other by insinuating the next employee isn't "safe" to work with. Upper management is aware but is busy pretending they don't know what the issue is. Not sure why because the turn over rate is undeniably high and costs the company a lot of money. All in all, You're life becomes full of anxiety and stress and NOT because of the work but the poor management that higher ups turn a blind to.

Pros

I love this place in the sense of a free paycheck. All you have to do is be friends with senior level management and the rest of history.

Cons

One big and major issue that I have with this organization is it is not diverse at all. There are often too many Inappropriate Comments gear towards is ear towards folks of color.
