Pros

Flat management structure. Self promotion from experience and hard work. Endless learning opportunities, challenging, any idea is a good idea. I personally have had multiple ideas that have become part of our portfolio. Flexible with work hours and willing to allow telecommuting if that situation arises. Excellent benefits (retirement and health coverage).

Cons

Training is all on-the-job, vast range of responsibilities, other typical flaws with working for a small business.

Pros

Fun atmosphere, encouraged to learn as much as you can, plenty of opportunities to learn and expand your knowledge, flexible time off, room to grow

Cons

Commuting in Harrisburg traffic everyday, the "know it all" attitude of co-workers, health insurance in general, no reimbursement for health insurance for a spouse

Pros

If you are a developer, you'll have enough power to make serious decisions and actually affect the company. You will carry a lot of responsibility and quickly become irreplaceable. You'll have the opportunity to work on a lot of different kinds of projects, and pretty much have free reign as to how to complete them.

Cons

There's no process. There's nowhere near enough developers for the amount of projects the owner wants to work on. Developers usually work alone on project. To the owner, programmers/developers perform magic. He has no idea how much effort projects require. All employees are underpaid and stretched too thin. Management is highly unprofessional.
