Pros

Independence, flexibility and good benefits.

Cons

Really hard to grow. They underestimate the role of a designer so you are frequently treated like second class. Some PMs are really undermining. Work/ life balance is terrible.

Pros

Diverse age group. Plum benefits. Small company feels like family. Working in the city right in front of the Empire State building and 1 block away from Herald Square.

Cons

Everything is cramped because it's in NYC. There are no cubes. It's an open office.

Pros

None really. They have none

Cons

All of those 5 star reviews are the company employees or engineers that never researched their market value and now cope with thinking that the company cares about that and that they “like it” here... you will learn a lot in the very first 2 months, especially since you won’t be part of any project since you are learning, BUT be warned, the company does not have any concern about you, your social life, or sleep for that matter. Sure, investment bankers also put in many hours, but they at least get compensated. Be prepared to get micromanaged by your department manager multiple times in a day. Be prepared to meet impossible deadlines that cut into your time with your family. Be prepared to be underpaid for what you are worth as an engineer and told that your master’s degree doesn’t matter. Be prepared to have your manager cut into your lunch break and not even have it without being bothered to do a CAD design. This will be the end result of you joining here. There is no overtime pay, BUT you will be working overtime very frequently. Some even work 80hrs. Please don’t make the mistake of being sucked into their pipe dream into thinking they care and that your hard work will pay off, cause it won’t.
