Totally different company now and not in a good way.
Pros
-Ability to work from home. -Decent amount of time off - 15-17 days of PTO plus 8-10 holidays per year. -Exposure to many different industries and clients - you will learn a lot -40 hours per week of work typically
Cons
-Zero respect for employees -Constant downsizing and firings - you are never safe. Management has turned over at least 4-5 times in the past few years. -Pay not commensurate with workload and duties -Processes change on a daily basis and not for the better. Genuine feedback is not welcome. -It is common knowledge that raises will never be given. Employees are not rewarded for excellent work. The answer always is "We are working on the pay scales" but then nothing ever happens. I asked 3 times for a raise and got nothing. -Assigning new work duties to untrained personnel - i.e. firing the payroll and HR departments and having accounting staff pick up the slack - The whole culture has changed over the past few years - I don't believe in the mission anymore. This is NOT a place moms should work. -Sweatshop-like mentality -Zero autonomy- everything is processized and you get chastised if you go off process or have a more efficient way of doing things. Basically 100 steps to do one task. A lot of wasted time. -Benefits frequently taken away. There used to be unlimited time off and it was given generously. Not anymore. The PTO policy is still decent but not what it used to be. We used to have monthly team lunches to boost morale and discuss things that were going on. Those got cut a year ago. We used to be able to work whatever hours we wanted - now there are strict schedules in place. Look, I understand that businesses change and this is a startup. If things are changing for the better, then why are your star employees leaving? Maybe they gave you some stupid excuse, but if things were great at BackOps, then they wouldn't have left. You need to fight for your people.
