Pros

Company van AND THATS IT

Cons

I came to Hoffmann brothers in December 2023, a gentleman named Mike hickey hired me. He was the greatest thing about my employment, Mike was very strict about safety and very upfront about the job and told me exactly what my role was. While Mike was the current master electrician I loved my job. One day I was on a service call and Joe Hoffmann the vice president of the company called and mentioned Mike suffered a medical emergency and it was likely he would pass. The next day he passed away. After Mike passed away hoffmann brothers flipped the script and changed how things went. 1st they hired a corporate executive with tons of corporate experience it failed miserably he tore apart the company and cut wages and corporatized a company that didn’t need it. Every single loyal electrician that worked there has since quit.

Pros

Truthfully, I have no pros at this time. It started off great, and slowly turned to one of the worst companies I ever worked for.

Cons

I worked for Hoffmann Brothers from 2023 until March 2025. I was hired to help clean up major issues with their electronic receiving and inventory processes. I took that role seriously and worked hard to improve things, but the workplace culture and management made it a very difficult place to work. During my time there, multiple concerns were raised about disrespectful and unprofessional behavior among employees. Complaints were brought to management several times, but in my experience nothing meaningful was done to address the issues. Accessibility concerns were also raised and never properly resolved. On top of that, policies seemed to be applied very inconsistently. Some employees were given exceptions or benefits that others were not, which created a frustrating and unfair work environment. I eventually asked about moving into another role within the company that better matched the work I was already doing and my skillset. I was told my position “was not valued enough,” and shortly after raising those concerns I was told midway through a workday to pack up my belongings and not come back. They did pay me for two additional weeks after that, which I appreciate, but the way the situation was handled spoke volumes about how employee concerns were treated. My husband also worked there and unfortunately had a very similar experience with how employees were treated. Based on our experience, there are serious issues with communication, accountability, and workplace culture that the company should address. I’m sharing this so future employees and customers can understand that the internal environment did not match the level of professionalism the company presents publicly.

Pros

Benefits and friendly co workers

Cons

Management does not listen. Sexist work environment, Timed bathroom/personal breaks, penalties for not selling enough, taking breaks, talking to customers too long, talking to your coworkers at all, taking personal days. Hitting your quota only to have it raised every single time. Never being appreciated or respected. They will let you go for no reason and silence you with compensation (I can not confirm this bc no one will talk about it). Men are paid more than the women. Overall this is a company that cares about money and not people. They started hiring people from the Philippines to cut costs and to replace hard working in person employees. If your a woman, run. If your a man, you might do well but only if your a yes man and willing to compromise your moral compass. I would not recommend working here.
