Pros

- Flexible hours - Enjoyable co-workers - Good benefits for the company size

Cons

I will never be able to fully convey in words all the ways the leadership of this organization caused the most significant emotional and financial damage I’ve ever experienced in my life. I invested multiple years and immense care & energy into my career at Hook Agency. I never missed a single deadline, was awarded by my peers for exemplifying core values, and seamlessly ran a tight ship that saved the company money & resources— yet I was failed by leadership time and time again. Leadership has admitted to learning multiple damaging lessons at my expense, but they’ve never once extended me an apology on a personal level. While you may have a perfectly fine experience working for Hook, I would be remiss to not share my experience, especially for any women considering employment at this company. I encourage any women who appreciate being able to composedly share informed opinions about their area of expertise without fear of retaliation from an emotionally-reactive, immature, and defensive leader to look for employment elsewhere.

Thank you for your feedback and for acknowledging the enjoyable coworkers and good benefits at Hook Agency. We’re all humans and constantly striving to improve. We hate having to let go of teammates, but occasionally do based on core values, ethics, or if someone consistently communicates dissatisfaction with their work and leaders. We believe people in that situation will be happier at a different company. As the owner, I recognize that I can be reactive and immature at times, and I’m actively working on growing in these areas. Your feedback is (for real) valued. Regarding the remark about females looking elsewhere, I’d like to clarify a few points. Half of our executive leadership team is women, and more than half of our company is women. The reactive situations I’ve experienced have typically involved men. Nonetheless, we are committed to creating a supportive environment for everyone. Thank you again for your input. I promise it is heard, and will be on my mind for sure. It’s feedback like yours that helps us grow as a company and as individuals. I hope I’m not done growing yet, as a human. Tim Brown, Owner / CEO of Hook Agency
