Pros

Inclusive workplace and free parking, that’s about it.

Cons

While many of the negative reviews here hint at the truth, they don’t fully capture just how dysfunctional and damaging this company can be. There was once a time when Horizon carried some level of respectability. Unfortunately, that time has long passed. Under the current CEO, the organization has spiraled into a toxic, unstable environment that many have described as nothing short of a professional nightmare. If you’re considering a role here, there are some hard truths you should know. Your job responsibilities will shift constantly, dictated by the erratic and often irrational demands of the CEO—whose understanding of the industry is, at best, dangerously superficial. You’ll be enticed with promises of a high-potential role, but these are little more than empty sales pitches. The business model is unsustainable, propped up by a small group of vendors and built on shaky foundations. The compensation structure is one of the most deceptive aspects. It will likely change soon after you join—retroactively in some cases—and always in the company’s favor. There’s little transparency, and recurring revenue you generate is not honored. Instead, you’ll find yourself tangled in a convoluted scheme carefully engineered to minimize commission payouts. This system was crafted by the CEO and a close associate, and it operates more like a trickle-up pyramid than a genuine incentive model. The high turnover isn’t a mystery. It stems directly from the CEO’s leadership style, which many former employees have described as hostile, erratic, and dismissive. His approach to sales leadership borders on harassment, with little regard for employee input or evolving market conditions. You’ll be pushed to sell irrelevant or ill-suited services into markets with little to no traction, all while under pressure to meet quotas designed to be unachievable. Failure to meet these unrealistic targets lands you in the so-called “Development Plan”—a thinly veiled threat signaling that your days are numbered. It’s not about growth or support; it’s about control and coercion. Many have walked away from this company carrying significant emotional stress, describing their time under the CEO as mentally exhausting. Internally, Horizon remains afloat primarily because of IBM—a company that, while once a powerhouse, is no longer the force it used to be. The rest is smoke and mirrors, bolstered by an aggressively polished website and slick marketing that doesn’t match the company’s true capabilities. What’s most disappointing is that the company could actually succeed—if it were led by someone competent, grounded, and genuinely invested in both their people and the business. I understand how tough the job market can be. But no matter your situation, your talent and well-being are worth far more than what this company will offer you. Think twice.
