Beware of Anchor/Encore Studios
Pros
Competitive salary. Free team lunches every once in while. Diverse group of people (most people are from other countries). Travel opportunities if that is something that appeals to you. You could travel 50-60% if the month.
Cons
Where do I even begin. This is by far the worst place I have ever worked. 2 weeks into starting on the team I was part of, which was made up of 6 people, my manager and another associate quit. Then another girl went on maternity leave. So the team was cut in half and was left to figure out things on my own. This place is: 1. Disorganized. From their onboarding and UAT process of internal and external use of spreadsheets. Additionally finding out a week before you were suppose to fly somewhere and expected to book and arrange your own travel which many times got changed/cancelled last minute. 2. Bug filled and unfriendly user designed software. Half my time there I spent submitting bugs since things didn’t work and clients were unhappy with the overall UX. 3. No onboard training for new employees. While at the same time you are expected to navigate complex software and onboard clients. 4. Poor Management. I was let go because I didn’t pick up software quick enough right before 90 days which ironically was the first time anyone asked me how I was doing. I had no 30 or 60 day check ins. You are literally thrown into the fire and expected to survive complex and high stress situations. New employees are required to go into the office that is unfriendly and dead quiet with many people on zoom calls like zombies with little to no interaction with co workers. I would not recommend Anchor/ Encore Studios division of Hornblower Group and beware turn over is high here and for good reason.
