Pros

Really nice benefits - generous with time off. They also pay for some equipment you may need or things you need to learn something related to your job. Free food and fun outings occasionally. Love the global aspect of the company. Employee exchange program, travel opportunities (depends on what role you have though), and great way to talk to people from all over the world. Work can be fun at times with what you do and meetings with people all over the world. You learn many things as you work, which I definitely can credit Hornetsecurity for in my future. They are willing to see what else you're capable of doing and if you want to juggle those responsibilities as well or take over another role. Can be a pro, but also a con aka don't let them take advantage of it and do it for your wants / with what you're capable of. Coworkers can be really friendly and helpful. Supervisors can be super kind and accommodating too, very sociable and willing to teach. Enjoy working with colleagues from other offices. Work life balance exists at Hornetsecurity if you have the right role and are confident about keeping your work life balance stable.

Cons

Everything is not structured properly and there are a lot of hiccups and gaps in processes - you don't even know what you don't know. Direction is all over the place and can change whenever it feels like it. Micromanaging is definitely present, you get spied on too. Sometimes, you will feel like you have done work for nothing because they want so many things but may end up not going through with those items. A LOT of miscommunication. Last minute changes and decisions that can affect your personal time as well. They expect for you to do extra work that isn't part of your role and doing it unpaid. They can act super cheap at times and make you travel or do work on your own personal time so they don't lose any official work time from you. Hybrid WFH model is up to discretion from management at times and they are not straightforward with reasons why everyone has to be in-office at some points, with vague reasons or lies. Some employees can WFH right away while others can't; WFH policies are not the same for everyone unfortunately. They do not trust employees working from home even though they market themselves as "flexible" with WFH, as if the 3-6 month probation period where you have to be in-office every day wasn't enough. Way too strict / dictating about WFH policies to the point you feel watched or feel controlled. No concrete direction from upper management and as a result, getting blamed for bad numbers and apparently doing nothing productive, despite being busy with a lot of tasks. Management does not want to hear your excuses or why things were the way they were, they just want to see what they want to see without understanding any reasonings as to why things are the way they are, blaming employees for poor results. Dodgy excuses and explanations for certain things, making me feel like a kid - I'm not supposed to understand what's going on but in actuality, I see exactly what's going on. Too many ambiguous reasons as to why they're implementing changes or doing something in a certain way. Always seems to be someone leaving the company every 1-2 weeks (globally), which makes things seem extremely uncomfortable and sometimes, you have to ignore it or else they will be upset that you're not working. For those who unwillingly leave, consequences are not thought about and other employees have to suffer with the leftover work and issues that were not carried over properly. Pay is also below market and not worth the stress you may go through.

Many thanks for your review! We totally agree with your statement “great colleagues and global opportunities”. With our growth there are challenges for sure. But we do not see unsolvable problems, we always see great challenges. We are results-oriented: We strive to drive the business forward, identify and chase new opportunities, eliminate blockers and boost efficiency. If something doesn’t go as planned, we deal with it transparently, admit our mistakes and learn from them. By the way we do have implemented Exit Interviews. We genuinely care about the wellbeing of all our employees, and we want you to know that if you're experiencing any difficulties, you can always reach out to HR for support – our door is always open!

Pros

- Good product - Reasonable salaries - Some flexibility

Cons

- Toxic and unhappy team culture driven by leadership - HR and senior management have no interest in employee welfare - Several serious complaints of bullying and harassment made by multiple members of team, no notice or action was ever taken by HR or C level - Managers who have personal dislikes for members of their team will go out of their way to make their lives more difficult - Extremely high staff turnover, lots of people are looking for a new job within weeks of starting due to the toxicity - Staff on legal statutory minumum benefits including one week's notice which drives sense of unease

Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad you appreciate Hornetsecurity products, compensation structure, and flexibility. We also regret to hear you had some negative experiences while working with us. The welfare of our employees is of high priority to us and in many occasions we support individual needs and take into account special circumstances of our colleagues. And of respect of the privacy of each colleague we do not communicate those topics openly. We are sorry you've received a wrong impression and we will check what we can improve in our internal communication.

Pros

- Not much to say as far as pros is concerned.

Cons

- Their job posts make them sound like a cool, modern, open minded employer. The reality is complete opposite. Panic is constant, your opinions are best kept to yourself, and their 6 month probation period is a joke. - They fire most of the people they hire during their 5th month.

We thank you for your feedback and would like to address some of your points here as part of transparency. An open and honest culture is of particular importance for us. Thus, we have established continuous and fixed feedback meetings (also several appointments during the onboarding phase). Our highest goal are happy and satisfied employees, who are growing with us long-term. This is not only ensured by the direct supervisor but also by our HR advisors who are ready to help each employee with any problems and challenges as well as the fact that we only give out permanent contracts because we aim for long-term employments. Exits are a very rare exception with us and not a standard at all! As part of our offboarding, there is always an exit interview, which serves as essential and valuable feedback for each party. From this we draw very important points, which we always try to consider and implement. We really regret your criticism and wish you all the best for your future!
