Pros
(1) Great work experience puts you in all kinds of different environments ( 2) Do not require hospice experience, willing to train/educate you (3) Most of the Doc's are pleasant to call and work with and most everyone in various office dept's helpful and friendly (4) Flexible in terms of FT nurses can drop back to PRN while working on education, maternity, etc... OR even learn various positions like admissions, facilities, on call, even pediatrics. (5) Salary is less what other smaller hospices CM's earn, BUT you REALLY get to be OFF, thanks to an awesome On Call team that handles all after hr's, weekends, and Holidays and NO Admissions!!
Cons
(1) ALWAYS CHANGING- updating policies/ procedures! (but not a con for me I don't mind change but worth mentioning) (2) Decided to leave Hospice Austin after receiving other attractive job offers in combination w bad experiences/ total lack of support from Blue Team" Leader" ( case management is color coded by areas/districts). But some individuals teach you the best lessons by showing you how NOT to behave and lead others!
