Pros
By showing competence and motivation (or just common sense) you can stand out from the crowd. Lower level management is in touch with workers. Fast pace atmosphere (nights, weekends) is a plus. Not like any job in the industry- the historic charm is there. Not like working at a chain hotel.
Cons
Upper management is often ill-informed when it comes to the in's and out's and the daily activities of many employees.
