Pros

Most of the daily operational staff at the properties are great people. It's when you start dealing with corporate it gets hairy.

Cons

Horrible benefits. Worst I've seen at any company. Expect to pay $1400 a month out of your check for family insurance with a $3500 deductible. Acquiring more hotels than they can handle. Make decisions from the top that many times don't work in day to day operations. Lots of reports, paperwork and webinars. No time for real prospecting. Many hotels are also missing important computer systems and tools needed to do the job. Told to improvise and they will get to it later. Tired of working for a half staffed, half trained and half supplied property. Not worth it go somewhere that actually has their act together.

Pros

Like all companies there are several stand out employees, I can think of only three. They made me a better manager due to lack of support and constant mistakes made on their end. Rather than complain or trust their guidance, I questioned everything. Thank you for pushing me to be a more informed manager.

Cons

No support. I am proof that a hotel doesn't really need support from a managing group. It would have been nice. If you are a branded hotel, the brand has amazing support! Everything from Revenue Management to Customer Service to Brand Standards. When it comes to Brand Standards, HE is not really up on them. Don't trust everything they tell you or you will have points deducted on your next QA inspection for not following Brand Standards.

Pros

None that I am aware of.

Cons

when hotel equities bought out my hotel, they immediately fired 80% of the staff, and then for "orientation" they sent a guy named drew, who told the remaining few how easily replaceable we were and dared us to leave. He then proceeded to tell stories about his vacations for 4 hours. Everyone was just confused by the end of the meeting. that was almost 2 years ago, we still only have 3 people to work the front desk, 2 housekeepers, and currently no GM. The last time i spoke to a member from corporate, i asked how i could contact their HR and she flat out refused to give me the information. Hotel Equities makes it nearly impossible to hire someone new, and continue to work the few loyal people they have to death. We had one employee that had a mental breakdown and had to leave due to the horrible work environment provided by Hotel Equities. They never replace anything that breaks either. for the past year, my hotel, which can hold hundreds of people only has one washer and dryer for linens because we keep getting denied by hotel equities. The only time we hear from them is when they are telling us we need to be making more money. They couldn't care any less about these people that work themselves to death. ever since they showed up, no one gets raises anymore, no one gets benefits anymore, and they only pay minimum wage. sticking with a company for years means nothing to them. They dont care about the employees or guests, just the money.
