a work desk at your office, Chinese education, 9am to 11pm meetings with HQ, dining area

This does not feel like a tech job and more like a slavery. The managers will no accommodate your needs. you are obligated to stay at office 9-5. you have no choice for your selected tasks and they will be assigned from HQ. Your task might as well be inventing the new science in a week with expected results! Managers are very selfish and don't care about underlings.
