Horrible culture and lots of micro management

Pros

Now, I did work here a good few years ago, but I have friends who still work there and confirm it hasn’t changed much. If you want to work for an agency who are “lads”, don’t mind working to strict KPI’s and being publicly mocked then this is the right place for you.

Cons

KPI driver, micro management, doesn't seem to be any real direction from senior management

Firstly, thank you for your feedback. It’s always really useful to hear comments from our current and former employees. We’re really sorry that you didn’t have a good experience of working at Huntress a some years ago, as you say, but I can assure you, we have changed immensely since the appointment of our CEO, Chris Leeson in early 2014. While, with any sales driven business, it’s important to work in a structured way with clear goals and targets, we also make sure these are realistic and most importantly achievable. Our commission scheme also ensures that the harder our people work, the more reward they receive, as our commission is uncapped. From feedback that we’ve gathered over the years from our trainee Consultants, this has empowered them to grow and develop their business and we now have a clear career path where anyone can be promoted very quickly if they have the ambition. We also adopt a more flexible approach with consultants who are more experienced and the KPIs are used more as a reference.

Pros

Fantastic training programme CEO is absolutely fantastic, and always has an open door for his employers Great incentives and rewards Lots of recognition for hard work Fun environment

Cons

Micro management A lot of meetings for the sake of having a meeting Far too KPI'd focussed rather than focussing more on filling jobs Certain managers do not listen, and are constantly breathing down your neck Make you feel like you are not valued if one KPI isn't hit instead of offering support Micro management again

Pros

Good staff Good interview process

Cons

Minimal support from management Frowned upon if you did not eat your lunch at your desk, would have to work while you were eating and could not take more than 30 minutes Frowned upon if you ever left on time and would be pulled up on this Lack of training and support for trainee positions, it is like they set you up to fail

Firstly, I’m sorry that your experience was not as positive as most feedback we receive. In the past few years, we have made huge improvements in the training we provide all consultants joining Huntress. No matter what level you join at, the training programme is tailored to build on your skills so you become the best consultant in the industry with a focus on customer service. The recruitment industry is renowned for being a heavily sales focused and being challenging but also incredibly rewarding. The 1st year is certainly the most demanding as you get to grips with working towards your KPIs and some time this requires working longer hours in order to meet your targets - as we say you get out what you put in. Meanwhile we are conscious that employees will only perform well if they work in a friendly and supportive environment which management is tirelessly working to achieve. The office in Aldwych was designed to reflect exactly this and we now have a welcoming kitchen / open space for our employees and candidates to enjoy and the feedback has very been positive. We also have a roof terrace for staff to enjoy the sunshine and the views, either over lunch time or for ad-hoc meetings. Your feedback is valuable to us and we would like to know more about your particular experience at Huntress as we are always striving to improve, so please get in touch with Marie-Claire in HR.
