Pros

You wear a lot of hats at Hype Well media so you're able to flex your creative skillset. It was rewarding to see projects come to fruition and work with popular food chain clients in the LA/OC region. The company has a very startup feel and the company culture is young and fresh. Fun job to get your foot through the door in the digital marketing industry.

Cons

Hype Well has the image of an established "hip and fun" company, but they feel like a failing startup. Low pay, long hours, everyone is overworked and spread too thin. Interns were not compensated with anything other than food and were NOT guaranteed a full-time job after months of the company stringing them along with incentives to WORK FOR FREE longer. Those who do get hired do not receive any benefits other than a minimum hourly wage during a 3-month probation. CEO and managers do not care about the employees well-being as evident by their low pay and the amount of workers who work overtime to finish their tasks. Hype Well hires mostly entry-level workers because people keep quitting and senior management is cheap. Upward mobility is pretty much nonexistent. The company is ill-fit to adapt to the high turnover rate and instead of hiring more employees, they pile on job titles to employees' already-existing titles to fill in the missing gaps. The company will take on any morally questionable client as long as they have the money (including Pro-Trump propaganda companies). If you value work-life balance, do yourself a favor and look for a job elsewhere. If you do decide to work here, don't expect to stay here longer than a year.

Pros

Been in the OC location for more than a year now and seen a lot of growth. Our office in orange county has grown exponentially and with the growth, we had to pass a bunch of hurdles to get us to where we are at. The good thing about social media marketing in general is that is always changing and with the team we have, we are always trying to be ahead of the curve which is why we have excelled so fast.

Cons

I think the correct term for the OC office is Improvise, Adapt, Overcome. With growth, you have to deal with a lot of structural hurdles and loose ends. Do not expect to just be hired to do 1 specific job. This office has more of a start of feel and with that comes more responsibility. If you are not willing to handle a heavy workload you are not ready to work here.

Stressful environment with poor management

Pros

Young environment, casual dress, occasional half days

Cons

CEO is invisible and largely unavailable, yet has to approve many decisions and doesn't trust employees. Makes decisions based on emotions. Company is unstructured. Employees have to lie about company size to clients. Paychecks and reimbursements are always late and at high risk of bouncing. Staff is unhappy working for no appreciation; constantly stressed about being paid properly but feel that speaking up is punishable.
