Pros

• If you're applying as a call center operator, this is probably a fine job for you... Great for gaining customer service and phone skills. • Located at Lake Austin, so it is pretty outside. • Some folks get offices downstairs. • Dessert samples are often in the break room. • There are some catered lunches in December because that is the busy season. • End of year Bonus for salary employees.

Cons

• There are no benefits. You'll hear "the pay makes up for it" however that is false. • There is a very strict dress code. • You are not allowed to listen to streaming music because of the way they have their internet phones set up. • Unless you live in Westlake, your commute will be long. • No direct deposit because they refuse to be a part of this century. • There is a lot of talk about politics that is in my opinion on the wrong side of history. • You are expected to come in exactly one time, and expected to stay late. • You have to bring your lunch or drive to a grocery store or drive-thru (10 to 15 minutes away). • If you wanted to eat at a restaurant with co-workers, you are expected to ask permission to leave together. And even though everything is 10 to 15 minutes away, it is frowned upon if you are back after an hour. • There are threatening notes in the break room, and occasionally company-wide emails about extremely mundane things like the cleaning out the coffee maker. • There are no company-wide meetings unless it's about something bad, like someone is leaving or there was another security breach. • Employees were responsible for creating anything close to a decent culture. (Of course when we all got together, we just complained about how awful the company was). • If you work in the call center (paid hourly), you can't get an end of year Bonus. Instead, you are bribed to work overtime by receiving spins on a wheel of fortune at the Holiday Party with the rest of the company watching. Therefore, even if you worked the most amount of overtime, someone who worked the fewest hours of overtime could still win the most monecy (or even an all-expenses-paid vacation).

Not for all, Perfect for some

Pros

A great company if you're willing and able to contribute. Company favors performance based compensation and top employees tend to make more here than they might elsewhere (sometimes by an order of magnitude). Annual bonuses in particular can be very substantial. Employees are encouraged to speak their mind and senior management has a true open-door policy. Multiple top employees have been with the company for 5+ years. Probably throws the best holiday party of any company in Austin.

Cons

This isn't Dell. Not a place for someone who wants to hide in a cubicle or who isn't willing (or able) to meaningfully contribute. Management is unafraid to explore new opportunities which can sometimes lead to a competition for internal resources. Company talent is spread across multiple offices in the U.S. and Canada making key resources sometimes difficult to access.

Great Employees, Greedy Management

Pros

Good starter company if you're looking to start your career. You briefly work with some very talented Austin people in a fast paced, sink or swim environment. If you can handle that, it's an excellent learning opportunity once you find a company you decide to build a career with.

Cons

Management / owners are greedy. Zero loyalty to their employees. They are from the northeast and quick to are quick to take advantage of the southern hospitalities the local folks provide. However they have no interest nor desire to return that hospitality, and are the last to accept blame for anything that goes wrong. No insurance. Minimal benefits. Leadership is a mess. The location may seem great at first, you'll quickly find that it's very inconvenient especially if you want to leave the office for lunch. High turnover.
