Pros

Strong Research Reputation – INRS-ETE is well regarded for environmental sciences, water research, bioprocesses, and sustainable technologies. It’s a hub for specialized expertise. Collaborative Environment – Interdisciplinary projects bring together engineers, microbiologists, chemists, and environmental scientists, fostering innovation.

Cons

Language Barrier – Daily life in Quebec City strongly leans on French; professional life is bilingual, but outside work, not knowing French can be challenging. Limited Local Industry Jobs – Compared to Toronto, Montreal, or Ontario in general, Quebec City has fewer biotech companies, so career transitions may require relocation.
