Pros

Fast track way to learn about the role and the industry. Direct impacts of decision making are seen and felt. Good for a first job after graduation. Fantastic colleagues to work with and a cozy office space

Cons

It's like a family business with a heavy top. Communication is open but is criticism is not taken well. Expectation settings are not in place and work-life balance can go for a toss during crunch time. Every process is hacky at best and the company focusses on quick fixes as opposed to long term solutions.

Pros

Got immense growth & work independence Got an immense boost early into my career as a manager and IC

Cons

- Company has lost motivation to make it big, the senior management these days lacks leadership & technical competence - no one has foresight or focus to lay a strong foundation for the company. - Random Firing and Downsizing. No matter who you are, if you don't bring $$ to the company, even if it's not your fault, you'll be kicked the next day. Or even if you do, you will be. You have to be a 'YES' person who shows 9 working hours a day on paper to survive here. - The quality of engineers has turned devastatingly bad. There once was a time when there used to be supremely good talent around, but recently the quality of engineers has taken a severe dip. No one understands batteries or BMS anymore, and people in the company wonder why there are so many issues. - If you don't report to office on time everyday, you risk losing your job or will be considered a bad employee even if you stay late working until 12AM the last night, or create value. - Politics at its peak. People can always be found talking about other people favouritism is very commonly seen here.

They put the cult in culture

Pros

1. Opportunity to implement what you have learnt 2. Opportunity to learn a lot (applicable only to the engineering team) 3. Unlimited Coffee

Cons

1. Heavy leadership, they tell you to own your work, but one has to do what they tell you. If it's successful they praise themselves and if not then they blame you to know better 2. Very low compensation with respect to the quantum of work 3. If you are in sales, they have unrealistic targets to fetch you the variable portion of the salary 4. CEO makes ALL the decisions but makes it seem like the managers are taking them 5. If you don't fit the personality cult then you don't fit the culture 6. Politics encouraged by the CEO 7. Old school style management - if you are seen working for 12 hours mean you are hard working, but if you work for the number of hours agreed upon in the agreement (despite performing) then you are "not serious"
