Accepting this role was one of the worst mistakes I've made in life, and is something every past employee will admit. The mental abuse you will receive working here is real. Any light in your eye you may have entered this organization with will be quickly extinguished, your aspirations, thoughts and ideas squelched. It is very different working here once the interview process is over, the tone definitely changes. The narcissistic sociopath of a founder is well known in the security and IT industry for his petty antics. No respect given to your local time zone, so expect an erratic schedule. Taking cues from recent reviews, agreed, pay process is a mess, and insurance benefits are awful. Generally, expect the bare minimum here across the board when it comes to your quality of life. Expect to be regularly harassed for personal development plans that are meaningless beyond your time here. H.R. cannot and should not be trusted. H.R. policies are hysterical and change often. Working in the PA office is great so long as the founder is not around, in which case everyone puts on their "sad face" and packs away any emotions or happiness just to get it over with. There are frequent team webinars too which are torturous to say the least, the only assurance you will get that you are not the only one who is miserable is the sad expressions on everyone's face, save for those whose cameras are off or are asleep. Expect to waste a lot of time everywhere, and to submit daily updates before or after your daily micromanagement call with the founder. Expect your Friday calls with the founder to often ruin your weekend. Management is known to stalk current and past employees on social media.
