Pros

There used to be lots of pros with working at Icomera. The majority of workers are passionate about their work. The projects was interesting and diverse. You're always doing more then one job at Icomera. So you'll gain a handful of skills. The corporate events was great. The offering of internships and apprenticeships. (A pro but not really a pro because of how they're treated) The ability to remotely work during covid was also very good. There is a good amount of pros at Icomera. Especially prior to changes in management and the covid situation.

Cons

The largest con of Icomera is the way management treat their employees. You're just a number. Icomera has been consistently recording record profits and revenue. Even during the covid period. Which would be a pro if Icomera didn't have multiple waves of redundancies wiping out 95% of the contractors. Wiping out the majority of new employees and a handful of veteran employees. Regardless of the job. Which was entirely a disconnected numbers game. No individual judgment of each person. The numbers had to be met. All happening over the Christmas months. So while management enjoyed their Christmases, their employees didn't know if they would have a job after Christmas. In other words, if you value job safety don't work here. If you have children that you must provide for don't work here. Also despite the record revenue all the employees cannot have salary questions. That meeting is not allowed despite the record revenues. All the while management is buying multiple companys. While there employees don't get a say in salary reviews. Using and abusing of internships and apprenticeships for cheap work. Which never used to be the case. Because they used to employ them after their tenure. Understaffed and over worked employees. Underpaid. Icomera senior management was pushing an odd language inclusivity agenda. While the covid crisis was happening. For instance, it's recommended to not say black list or white list. Yes, while making there employees redundant, buying companies, recording record revenue they was pushing a "ethical" language agenda. A good use of money and time. Icomera wants to distance itself from its startup style behaviour all the while still acting like one. Despite all the cons, icomera does have pros.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and experience of Icomera. We would like to start by responding that we are sorry you have been negatively impacted by the redundancies that were implemented recently and that you express a lack of confidence in Icomera’s management. Please know that making any staff reductions was not an easy task and one that we carried forward with much consideration. In an ideal world, we certainly would have preferred not to have made any cuts, however it was a necessary reorganizational action in order for Icomera to meet the changing demands of its next phase. We are deeply concerned that you feel that our employees are not respected or of importance. We go to great lengths to include, listen to, and inform all of our employees through two-way transparent and open dialogue. Our employees are crucial to the continued success of the company. We welcome you to contact us should you wish to have a deeper discussion.

Pros

Interesting Cellular Technology & good overall company mission

Cons

Discussed below below are my opinions Seems to have an incredibly toxic culture. The staff morale appears to be so low it is practically non-existent. The high employee turnover rate speaks for itself, as people rarely last very long before quitting or getting fired. Staff members are encouraged to "escalate" on one another (make themselves look better by making co-workers look bad.) Resulting in feelings of backstabbing, mistrust, and zero cohesion. There is fear of getting fired for even the slightest mistakes. Anyone brave enough to try to come up with a new idea or innovative strategy is quickly shot down by both management and co-workers, and often derided. The majority of the work seems to be handled by a just a few hard-workers, the rest of the employees appear to do just the bare minimum and go unnoticed. Management never seem to take responsibility for their mistakes or short-comings and instead look for others to blame or take the heat. It appeared that customers, vendors, and employees are made fun of and laughed at behind their backs, and many are referred to by mean nicknames. Salaries are insultingly low, and whats worse is you will be made to feel easily replaceable if you ever mention a raise. Oftentimes, management seem to lose their temper and will yell at their staff and belittle them in front of the rest of the team or customers, even for things they told them to do. The management doesnt seem to walk the walk when it comes to their mission of promoting public transportation as they rarely take public transportation themselves, and even appeared to look down on those that did.

We are sorry to hear of your feelings regarding your Icomera experience, however, we are having difficulties in relating to some of your comments since they are very far from the values and the environment we endorse, support and aspire to achieve. We wish you would have raised your concerns earlier during your three years with us so that we could have addressed them at the time.

Pros

Free Coffee at the office.

Cons

If you are considering working at Icomera, do yourself a favor and read through these reviews. Pay special attention to the canned responses from the corporate PR department. Ask yourself if a healthy company would need to pay someone just to argue against it's own employee's opinions online. All of these low-scored reviews are honest and 100% do reflect the working conditions at Icomera. The company has burned through so many great hard-working, intelligent employees over the years, it is actually heart-breaking. Healthy companies simply do not have these types of high turnover, poor retention problems. It is not because of Covid, or the economy, or any other external factor that they will try to blame. It is squarely due to upper management, or better described as Mismanagement. Working conditions are abysmal. Pay is comically low. Morale is completely lost. There are many better companies out there. Do yourself and your family a favor and dont work for Icomera. Find yourself a company that actually cares about you and won't exploit your labor for pennies. Leave the company to the folks that are driving it into the ground. You will be glad you did.
