Pros

Bonding with others that are in the same situation as you.

Cons

You will always feel like you’re going to get fired because you have to be broken before they will build you up so that you become “loyal” and “one of them”. Mind games are always in play and people are purposely pinned against each other. THEY WILL dig at every aspect of your sanity, try to break you, try to make you feel dependent on their approval of you as a person and will screw you over if you show any signs of stength or independence. If you want to have a drama filled “laborious” job, that “feels like family” only because of constant mental trauma, shared tears and excessive nonsensical hours, this is the place.

Pros

Opportunity for advancement. If you can tolerate the abuse and exploitation you may be able to leave and leverage some new skills at a normal company where hard work and conscientiousness can be rewarded over the long term.

Cons

Ownership and senior management is fueled by manipulation and mind games under the delusion it will bring out the best in employees. Meaning, employees will tolerate constant duress under a cult-like atmosphere where everyone must mirror the “mindset” of the narcissistic Tony Robbins worshipping owner. Anyone not buying in will not last.

Thank you for your time in providing feedback. It allows us to improve. At Icon Foods, we are committed to promoting from within. We believe this not only helps individuals grow in new skills but also ensures they are duly rewarded. We have not received any complaints of abuse or exploitation in this regard. We expect high standards and core values from each individual employed with Icon Foods. These include a growth mindset, a need to contribute, trustworthiness, a positive attitude, and energy and passion. We have taken some of this advice by making internal transitions and hiring a third-party HR company. We believe in continuous growth and investing in our employees. We apologize that you felt like it was an endless self-improvement seminar. We understand that our methods are not for everyone.

Bad Management

Pros

Decent Base Pay, but they didn't give me commissions for everything that I got payment for in my last month.

Cons

CEO is volatile and not separate from the sales team. He tells racist and sexist jokes. Calls himself a visionary. CFO criticizes often and doesn't know that sales process. Terrible management.

Thank you for the feedback and opportunity for us to be better. We want to reassure you of our unwavering commitment to fair pay. We diligently monitor the industry and local area to ensure our employees receive a fair, livable wage, demonstrating our respect and value for our employee contributions. Unfortunately, you experienced what you believe to be racist and sexist jokes. As an HR team, we have not heard the same complaints, nor would we tolerate them from anyone within the company, including the CEO or founder. The company is an equal opportunity employer that encourages and requires a safe place for all individuals. Icon Foods strictly enforces and expects its employees to adhere to high standards and core values, which include a growth mindset, a need to contribute, trustworthiness, a positive attitude, and energy and passion. We are incredibly apologetic that that was not your experience. We have made some internal transitions, including a transition in CEO and onboarding a third-party HR company to allow for non-biased feedback. Thank you again for allowing us to be a better employer.
