Great people, poor leadership in upper management

Pros

IPG has a culture that feels like a family. Employees care about each other and celebrate events with pot-lucks and catered food. The work/life balance for most employees is good.

Cons

Over the past three years, IPG has improved in the area of team communication between departments. However, the silos between teams still exist and is no where near where it needs to be. Leadership is very lacking, with the exception of a couple of low level managers. Things change rapidly here and, as a result, mistakes are inevitably made. IPG is a medium sized company (about 100 employees) that still acts in many ways like a start-up. I think the previous review that stated IPG engages in "reckless" change is accurate.

Pros

Management is highly invested in the personal growth of every employee. We are encouraged to take ownership of our area of expertise and get creative with ways to take charge of volume and workflow changes. Despite the growth, IPG still maintains a close-knit feel, and employees are always made aware of the importance of what our company is doing within the healthcare industry. Our core values are made very clear to everyone and those who demonstrate them are always rewarded. The rapid growth we've seen has created tons of opportunities for each individual to explore every department and find the best fit based on our skill set and work/life balance. Depending on the role, IPG is very flexible with our work schedules. Alongside the environmental/cultural pros, IPG offers very competitive benefits and salaries which are typically more favorable than industry standards. This is a great time for anyone to jump into a great opportunity!

Cons

You may experience some minor growing pains as the company continues to develop best practices while we take on a lot of new business. IPG is still learning new and more efficient ways to accommodate the volume increase, so you have to be flexible and keep a sense of urgency in order to stay comfortable with your workload.

Implantable Provider Group (IPG) Response

While outside hires will always be necessary from time to time, we are investing in our current staff while planning for the future growth and have promoted many employees to higher level roles in lieu of hiring outside for the positions. Just a couple of years ago one of the surveys we did revealed dissatisfaction with internal promotion and career progression. Very happy our efforts are recognized and seem to be having a positive impact.
