Pros

Call center gets good perks and rewards for up-selling and meeting some goals. Good recognition offered for achievements.

Cons

#1 Con: THE CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER. The COO's attitude and treatment of people has created a fear culture around the company. Seriously on the days when he is out of the office EVERYONE is in lifted spirits around the building. Everyone. Otherwise, when the COO is in the office prepare to possibly get the following treatment: borderline harassed, called out and put on the spot in front of people instead of in private, have any snacks on your desk or in sight taken without permission, have your work rebuked without a chance to explain what it is you are doing and why, and maybe even unwanted attention if you're a girl .. It depends what position you take within the company you might get lucky and not have to deal with the COO as regularly as some of us do. HR has received several complaints but nothing ever seems to really happen. I see the employees filing the complaints are the ones that are ending up out the door after some time, not the COO, which is fascinating. The CEO is aware of these circumstances but for some reason I only see the CEO and COO acting like old pals when they're together. #2 CON: The quality of representatives hired for call taking are directly related to the hourly rate offered. #3 CON: Old business and marketing models

Pros

Nothing to mention. Not a single thing.

Cons

COO is a moron! The guy lies, cheats and treats the employees horribly! He is a cancer on the company and needs to go. He is the reason moral is so low! I can't figure out how he is still around, I think he has somehow fooled the new CEO into thinking he is the greatest, it is a shame! If he were in a real company he would have been fired by now and flipping burgers at McDonalds. Even his fellow peers(upper management think he is a worthless) No one really knows what the heck is going on including our capital investment group out of Boston who owns us! NO bonuses, No incentives, pay is lousy. The bottom line is the only thing they care about. There is a huge mass exodus right now. People are leaving left and right. These are people who have been around in the company for years and finally have gotten sick and tired for working for this failing company.

Pros

They put in a manual paper towel dispenser in the bathrooms because those automatic ones always died.

Cons

Plenty of reasons not to work here. First off they were purchased by Leslie Pool Mart Company this year. The fear around the office is that it will be closed and moved to the new headquarters. People have been laid off since the company was sold and more are coming based on what the grapevine is saying. Everyone at the company talks so nothing is really secretive. The commercial department heads are a joke. I have moved desks 8 times this year alone. They really have no clue as to what they are doing. Policy and procedures have changed so many times. They need someone who understands a thing or two about commercial business here. Additionally there are only maybe 3 or 4 of us here that were here one year ago. At this company you either dont make enough money for yourself or you dont make enough for the company which means you get fired. But how can we when they are constantly moving zones, seats, and no raport with customers!!! The structure of the department needs to be drastically rethought but it will not matter too much once the accounts go to the new owner company. The COO of the company also comes back scrounging the aisles for snacks and making disgusting comments that will not be repeat in this website.

Dear Sinking Ship, I’m sorry as a current employee that you are under the impression that we are sinking ship, everyone I talk to is excited about our new ownership and our upcoming year. Overall Commercial department has enjoyed a lot of success this year, the departments’ sales are up, and we feel this is due to our great sales team(one team member even one an all-inclusive paid vacation to Cabo for her and a guest!), PLUS expanding the department this year attributed to the turnover, but was needed due to long-term growth for the department. We know that being an Account Manager whether it’s here at In the Swim, or any other company, it’s a hard job selling on the phone selling all day long, currently we have over 19 members of the Commercial Sales Team that has been with us over 1 year. We know that this is a hard job and that is why we do our best in supporting and celebrating the Commercial department as much as possible. If you truly feel this way please talk to the Director of Sales, his door is always open. We are always looking for suggestions from our employees on how we can improve, there is a suggestion box in the front of the office on the receptionist desk that you are feel to give us suggestions at any time.
