Pros

Truly not one good thing about this place

Cons

I was treated horribly by my boss every day at ISN. I was subjected to verbal abuse and ridicule and made to feel as if I served no value. Every single task I completed was met with rolled eyes and huffing and puffing because he is incapable of making decisions. The immature and unprofessional behavior that my boss demonstrated on a daily basis is the type of crazy that you won't believe unless you experience it for yourself. Do you know what it's like to spend time with a 20 month old who has just learned to throw their bottle or spoon far across the kitchen and exercise their new vocabulary? Well, that parenthood experience is most analogous to serving as an executive assistant at ISN. ; Do you want milk? YES Milk!!! You hand said toddler their bottle, before you can turn around the milk is on the floor and they're screaming and looking at you like YOU messed up. Ummm, ok. How about apple juice mixed with water? YES APPLE JUICE!! You make a new bottle, proudly walk it over to the booster seat only to be met with confusion and disgust and their face in an absolute panic. I SAID I wanted MILK. My job description was Executive Assistant but I was also expected to make personal doctors appointments, make personal airline reservations for my boss' family members, make phone calls to rectify his personal credit card issues and each and every time I did something outside of my stated job description it went without a thank you, and came with additional ridicule. When I attempted to communicate my mistreatment to HR it went nowhere, because the staff in HR turns over faster than a National Security Advisor in 2019.

Truly Awful Company - Completely Accurate Review

Pros

Across from Montgomery Mall. Location is not bad.

Cons

It has been a number of reviews about ISN over the years, some positive and majority negative. Some reviews were removed, due to the company’s leadership inability to accept the truth. There are many words that would describe ISN, but the most effective word would be CATASTROPHE. ISN’s inability to be an average or normal company stems from the lack of leadership from its CEO. Normally, one of the signs of a successful company is the strength of its leadership team. Over the past few years, ISN has lost over 10 staff members in senior leadership positions, in departments such as finance, HR, contracts and programs. I can honestly say that majority, if not all, of them left with an extreme repugnance for the CEO. The strong rebuke of ISN’s CEO comes from a history of undermining, mistrust and fabrications. Lying and false promises to employees is a best practice at ISN. NO ONE, and I repeat, NO ONE is happy working at ISN, well maybe the CEO. I could go on and on about how horrible this company is, but I employ you too read all of the reviews. Also, some of the positive reviews are posted by family and friends of the CEO. If you choose to work at ISN, depression and mental anxiety from the extremely toxic environment will be in your future and the salary and benefits are inadequate to compensate for the pain.

Pros

The only two pros about the company is that it is located across the street from Montgomery Mall and some of the employees were nice to work with.

Cons

There are too many cons to list. The largest issue with the company is the CEO. This is really the only company he has ever worked for and he received his position because his mom owns the company. He does not know the first thing about running a company. He does not believe employees should be allowed to work from home because if they are not at work, they are not truly working. He pretends to care about employees by having company events thinking it would make up for the fact that the pay is low and that the benefits are mediocre, especially the vacation. Everyone starts at 2 weeks of vacation and the only reason he offers sick leave is because the State of MD and Montgomery County requires it. During my time there, the turnover in Accounting and HR was ridiculous. There were 4 Controllers in a 2 year span and 3 HR Directors. Other senior leaders have also come and are looking to go. From my understanding, they left because they hated him and his incompetence in running a company. I do not know how this company has managed to last this long because the lack of leadership has definitely made the work environment very toxic. If you notice most of the positive reviews were from Investigators and that was because he catered to them because that contract was supposed to be the most profitable. But you'll notice some of the recent reviews from Investigators have been poor and that is a result of how they were treated once ISN started losing work. It goes to show you that he treats you well for as long as you are making him money and even then that's not a guarantee. The other positive reviews on here are from non-employees such as the Store Reviewers and minor purchasers who don't really know what it is truly like to work as an employee at ISN. If you are interested in being demoralized, receive low pay and benefits, worked to the bone, with no growth or development opportunities then ISN is the company for you.
