Manipulative & Horrible Company

Pros

The leaders of the office seemed quite nice

Cons

But they are all extremely manipulative. They dont care about you, they dont care about overworking and underpaying you. They say they arent money hungry, but they 100% are. I worked 7 days a week, 9-10 hour shifts. They told me if I kept doing all of these jobs and duties, I would get promoted to leadership. Such a joke. They dont care about your success, they only care about doing enough events at the different clubs so they can make insane money off of you. Thats all they care about, money. They try to make the company culture amazing, they don't allow the little money pawns to talk in the morning and often interrupt if we would even try to talk in the parking lot. If we talked we would talk about the issues we were having, which led to two of of quitting in one day. Main Issues: - Working extreme hours, 9-10 hour days, 7 days a week when it was promised in our interview that we would get a weekend off and only work the events 6 hours a day. - Not having health benefits when in the signing it was specifically stated " I would never run a company that didnt provide health benefits" A few weeks in, surprise, no benefits as promised. - They make you sign the paperwork on the spot as they go over it so you cant read the fine print. They make you sign a paper saying you cant sue the company for any reason.. if they have good business practices why would they even have this in the paperwork? Hmm.. - A girl was puking in the office, she was so sick and a team leader walked in on her. Her response: Either you go to urgent care or you have enough motivation to go to your event that day. Work is much more important than ANYONES well being. - Even worse a girl had a death in the family and she was still told she had to work her event that day. No, im not kidding. - We were told we could do rebranding once we reached a certain level, we wouldn't have to work in the field as much and we would earn a business degree in about a year. We were building so many skills! No, we did direct selling in Sams club. That was our job, and we were their pawns. - A team lead took hours I worked off of my pay stub so I wouldnt get as much overtime, stating most people didnt put that they worked overtime on their payroll so they could make more commission. I made it very clear that I was never working for free and this was never to happen again. Their commission system is a joke. When I confronted management about my problems I was asked if I to pick my check up at the office or have it mailed to my house. In all, DO NOT WORK HERE. I don't care how desperate you are. It seems like such a beautiful company at first until you really take a good hard deep look at the morals and manipulation. I hope they get shut down and i'm going to do all in my power to ensure it happens.

Pros

If you are super pushy you get money quick and easy

Cons

CEO is horrible. She is not good at communication, company is a scam, they just make you sell their stuff at SAMs and they don’t tell you that. They sugar coat. Company sucks. Make you drive around everywhere and you don’t get good money. Very very underpaid.

One Big Fat Lie

Pros

At surface level, it is a positive environment.

Cons

A typical day is spending an hour in the office, and then 6-10+ hours inside a Sam's Club or Costco. This is called the "event" and is the majority of what you do. On road trips, there are no morning meetings you spend every single day working inside a Sam's Club or Costco from 10 or 11 am to 7 or 8:30 pm. A break is allowed, but no more than 15 minutes maximum. Management seems OK from the start, but you begin to realize how the entire business is comprised of one big lie. From the lack of benefits, to the idea that this is a "10 month program" (the CEO took 2 years at least to complete it), and even what you're told to say when interviewing people is fabricated. For example, you tell people they will make $75,000-$100,000 per year IF they can stay motivated. This is a lie. The NCR amount they say you'll make the retailer a lie. Even the best sales person doesn't make the amount they suggest you make everyday. The CEO doesn't make this amount when she goes to the event. Setting up the event, tearing down the event, team nights, book clubs, conference calls take up about 20+ hours extra per week. You do not get paid for any of this time. If you miss these events, you are deemed unmotivated and shunned into the category of "employee mentality" which is considered the worst sin, no matter what doctor's appointment or previous family obligation you may have during those times. Probably the biggest lie that you are told while working for this company is that the CEO wants to be your coach/mentor. That she truly cares about your personal growth and development and is excited to help you. She is not. She will gossip about everyone in the company, fake her way into your friendship and then forget about you. She is not a genuine person and will take advantage of you every chance she gets. Do not trust her. This is one of the main reasons she hasn't been able to retain anyone in this company for more than 5 months. It's also good to know that every position you see listed on LinkedIn, Indeed, ZipRecruiter is the same position. From "event coordinator" to "campaign manager" to "event assistant" to "entry level marketing" is all the same position. Every single one of them. Everything aside, I learned a lot at this company. I'm thankful for the real relationships I made, some positive experiences I had regarding new skills acquired, and but best of all I learned how to distinguish a very poorly run business.
