CEO is a warm and engaging man who is a community leader and well regarded by others but is invisible at the office and very hands-off with the staff. He sets the goals, but forgot that employee development and satisfaction is the key to realizing his goals and vision. There is a low energy, do just enough to keep your job office attitude that is actively fostered by some leadership that like the comfort of status quo and hate the risk of real growth. There is no room for flexibility of any kind. Attendance and punctuality is valued more highly than attitude or performance. Policies and conformity are taken to the extreme. There's no room for growth and the leadership seems to like it that way. The company cannot attract and retain younger, more ambitious talent. Leaders don't value higher education. There is no room for advancement even with experience and an MBA. The turnover rate is very high.
