      Small Class Sizes Experience land-based education and culturally sensitive pedagogy Well paid, living allowances, bonuses, save a lot of money!

      Isolated community, be prepared Not a lot of options for shopping or groceries Not good if you can’t handle the cold!

      Pros

      Great place to live and work, it's been a wonderful experience in many ways, I've been able to develop great relationships with many community members. This is a young school board so they have been slowly working out a lot of kinks since 2009, and since Sept 0f 2018 things have only been improving in all respects - both school wide and board wide. There is a great staff and good rapport among both adults and students who frequent the school daily.

      Cons

      It's a challenging environment in some ways. You start to really feel compassion for the community, especially the kids, once you start to realize their difficult history and all the pain and heartache that came with colonization, which they're still struggling with today. If you don't have a well-established sense of self or good coping skills, hobbies that bring joy and satisfaction, etc.
