Pros
Great device, effective. Generally well received by patients. Corporate seems to be going the right way with the technology. Company marketing is strong
Cons
Company over hires in the field. Some major metro areas have anywhere from 5-10 territory managers fighting each other for business and manipulating referral patterns/surgical facilities so that they might actually get credit for their work. The company has grown quickly but that has led to unrealistic expectations for continued extra growth. As a result, many reps are constantly playing from behind the 8 ball to hit quota unless they have one of the unicorn surgeons that absolutely loves doing Inspire all the time. They’re not afraid to jump your quota by 60+% year to year despite apparent insurance challenges, hospital scheduling, and overall physician fatigue. The company will act pure as the undriven snow, until their back is up against the wall for quota (every quarter), then they start asking you to load shelves by asking for “favors” from implanting facilities. They’ll also bang the drum to build therapy belief with the sleep doctors, until the high numbers force them to alienate sleep physicians and go straight to every other specialty. Sleep doctors don’t particularly like this, especially when you need their help for patient management post implant. Also as a result of expansive growth, the company has hired and promoted some truly awful middle management that are quite frankly, not allowed in the accounts because they’ve soured the relationships so badly and demanded so much. HR files are out against a few of these managers as well for some unsavory workplace behavior. Micromanagement runs rampant. Couple that with scraps for a territory and it’s a pretty bad combo. If you’re considering interviewing, talk to reps that have recently left in your area to get the honest scoop. This company doesn’t acknowledge honest feedback or any point of view they don’t agree with.
